Installation of an automated storage and retrieval system using robotics to pick product from 48,000 bins stored within the system. Scope for this design-build project included architectural, electrical, fire-sprinkler engineering, and installation of MEP supporting systems. Team successfully managed scarifying the existing concrete slab to provide a level surface within the Autostore manufacturer’s tolerances, relocation of all deck-height electrical and low voltage devices to below the acoustical ceiling, installation of an ESFR sprinkler system specifically for the Autostore area (compliant with FM Global requirements for automated storage and retrieval systems), installation of an acoustical ceiling, requirement based on FM Global guidelines, installation of new electrical distribution to support the Autostore’s workstations and robot charging stations, data cabling, and all perimeter cable tray installation. Communication with the client’s operations team was key to the success of the project, which kept the facility fully operational throughout the project lifecycle.
